The two shrines are located in the ancient city – Kamakura
Zeniarai Benzaiten Ugafuku Shrine and Sasuke Inari Shrine are located in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture. From Kamakura station, walk for about 20 minutes and you arrive at the entrance to Zeniarai Benzaiten Ugafuku Shrine. As the shrine is surrounded by steep cliffs on every side, the entrance is tunnelled through a mountain. Feeling a bit mysterious? Do not hesitate to pass through the cave-like dark tunnel!
Passing through the mysterious cave tunnel, a line of wooden toriis (鳥居, literally “bird abode”) comes to you. A torii is a gate at the entrance of a shrine in Japan. Getting through a torii means entering into a sacred area. Now, let’s move forward!
Wash money in the cave beside the shrine
Arrived! After worshiping or having a look around the shrine, do not forget to wash your money! Beside the shrine, there is a cave. Inside the cave it is the sacred place for washing money.
Put money in a bamboo colander and wash it, making a wish at the meanwhile
Legend has it that, as long as you wash your money with the spring water there, the money will be be multiplied by many times. What are you waiting? Action! Put money in a bamboo colander prepared there, and start washing it!
Other than money, some worshipers even wash their cash cards and lottery tickets hoping to boost luck in money.

After praying for good luck in money, it is time to visit Sasuke Inari Shrine and gain more power! Walk back the same way to the dark cave tunnel, and it is just a 5-minute walk to the entrance of Sasuke Inari Shrine.
